To All Addiction and Mental Health Providers in the Province of Ontario: Attached please find the Draft of the Minister’s Advisory Group towards a 10 year Mental Health and Addiction Strategy.   The goals of this strategy are:

• Improve health and well-being for all Ontarians
• Reduce incidence of mental illness and addiction
• Identify mental illnesses and addictions early and intervene appropriately
• Provide high quality, effective, integrated, culturally competent, person-directed services and supports for Ontarians with mild to complex Mental illnesses and or Addictions.

 Over the coming months there will be a series of roundtables and other public forums that will provide opportunities to provide feedback, and insights.  There are real opportunities here for families, consumers, and providers to address the many issues faced by Ontarians in accessing mental health and addiction services and supports. Do not hesitate to contact the Federation with any improvements concerns, or omissions as presented in the strategy.  Further consultations with Federation membership will take place over the coming months.David Kelly, Executive Director10-year Mental Health and Addiction Strategy - Every door is the right Door - [Click to open]
