Today, the Ontario government announced its release of “Open Minds, Healthy Minds: Ontario’s Comprehensive Mental Health and Addictions Strategy”. The strategy will focus on creating a more coordinated and responsive mental health system in Ontario.
The report, Respect, Recovery, Resilience: Recommendations for Ontario’s Mental Health and Addictions Strategy, identifies the need for a collaborative, patient-centered approach to mental health and addictions services.Â
At the Ontario Federation of Community Mental Health and Addiction Program's general meeting on April 11th, 2008, Minister George Smitherman announced a 2.25% increase in Addictions and Mental Health agency base budgets for the coming year.
