POLICE CHIEFS PUSH FOR ACTION IN MENTAL HEALTH AND ADDICTIONS

Toronto, July 11, 2011: The Ontario Federation of Community Mental Health and Addiction Programs (OFCMHAP) would like to congratulate the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) for passing a resolution that pushes for better services for mental health and addictions. The resolution calls on the provincial government to implement a policy that focuses on social services and supports, rather than reliance on the justice system to help people with mental health and addiction issues.
